A Magistrate Court sitting in Hadejia, Jigawa State, has ordered the arrest of a Department of State Services (DSS) officer, identified as Ifeanyi Festus, and directed security agencies to investigate alleged offences involving a minor.

The order followed an application filed by Abdulhadi Ibrahim in Suit No: DCC/01/2026 before the Magistrate Court of Jigawa State, Hadejia Magisterial District. The ruling was delivered by the presiding magistrate, His Worship Sadisu Musa Esq., and was dated January 2026.

Court documents obtained by SaharaReporters revealed that the application was moved by Kabiru Adamu Esq., who appeared alongside Babangida Garba Esq. as counsel to the applicant. The lawyers urged the court to exercise its powers under Sections 125 and 102(5) of the Administration of Criminal Justice Law (ACJL) to compel the arrest of the respondent and order a thorough investigation into the alleged offences.

In granting the application, the court ordered that Ifeanyi Festus be arrested by the Commissioner of Police, Jigawa State Police Command, or by the Deputy Director-General of the DSS, as well as any officers acting under their authority.

The magistrate further directed the Nigeria Police Force, Jigawa State Command, to discreetly investigate the allegations, underscoring the gravity of the matter before the court.

In a separate and urgent directive, the court ordered the Department of State Services to immediately release and reunite the alleged victim, identified as Walida Abdulhadi, with her parents.

Parts of the court order read:
“That the defendant be arrested by the Commissioner of Police, Jigawa State Police Command, or the Deputy Director General of the Department of State Security Services and/or any officer under them.

“That the Commissioner of Police, Nigeria Police Force, Jigawa State Command, is hereby ordered to discreetly investigate this case.

“That the Department of State Security Service shall immediately release and reunite the victim (Walida Abdulhadi) with her parents.”
