The President of the Independent National Electoral Commission (CENA), Sacca Lafia, has officially launched the January 11, 2026, vote. He reassured that everything is ready and called on electoral officials to show rigor in carrying out their republican duty.

Sacca Lafia gave the go-ahead for the January 11, 2026, polls. The President of the Independent National Electoral Commission (CENA) officially launched the legislative and municipal elections. “This is a decisive moment, an act of faith in our democracy,” the CENA President declared.

“The CENA, as the guarantor of the integrity of your votes, reassures you. Everything is ready,” Sacca Lafia stressed. The head of the body responsible for organizing elections in Benin also assured that all necessary measures have been taken to enable Beninese citizens to fulfill their civic duty “in complete freedom, with fairness, and above all in absolute peace.”

Addressing electoral officials, Sacca Lafia emphasized the need for rigor. “You are the sentinels of the Republic. Your mission tolerates no weakness, no bias, no collusion,” he insisted. According to the CENA President, “elections are not won in CENA offices. They are decided in the secrecy of the voting booth and confirmed through the transparency of the ballot boxes.”
“The nation is watching you. History will judge you by your neutrality,” Sacca Lafia warned polling station officials. The CENA President expressed his deep gratitude to the institutions of the Republic, to partners, and to every citizen of goodwill whose support made it possible to meet the organizational challenge of this combined election.
