Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has approved the immediate promotion of more than 2,000 workers of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) and the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA).
The promotions followed examinations conducted between Tuesday, November 25 and Saturday, November 29, 2025, as part of efforts to ensure regular career progression within the FCT civil service.
Speaking on Wednesday, the Chairman of the FCT Civil Service Commission, Emeka Ezeh, disclosed that the beneficiaries cut across 165 different cadres. He described the approval as a clear demonstration of the FCT Minister’s commitment to staff welfare and motivation, noting that timely promotions boost morale and enhance productivity.
Ezeh assured workers that promotion examinations would continue to be conducted as and when due, urging civil servants to begin early preparation for the 2025 and 2026 promotion exercises. According to him, only diligent, disciplined and hardworking staff would be considered for advancement.
He further reiterated that the commission would sustain the use of Computer-Based Tests (CBT) for promotion examinations, adding that the digital platform, recently approved by the minister, is aimed at improving transparency, efficiency and credibility in the promotion process across the FCT civil service.
