Caleb University has appointed Pastor Folu Adeboye as its new Chancellor.
The announcement was made during the institution’s 15th convocation ceremony, where she was also awarded an honorary Doctor of Humanity (Honoris Causa).
Adeboye is the wife of Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God.
In a statement issued by the university’s Information, Media and Publication Specialist, Olawale Adekoya, the institution said the Chancellor will preside over convocations, confer degrees and serve as the ceremonial head of the university.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olalekan Asikhia, described her appointment as a milestone in the university’s growth, noting that it reflects a blend of academic excellence and spiritual leadership.
According to him, Adeboye’s decades of experience in ministry, counselling and institution-building position her as a strong moral and strategic influence for the university community.
The Registrar, Mr Mayokun Olumeru, also welcomed the development, describing her as a custodian of values and a steady guide in challenging times.
Pastor Adeboye is widely recognised for her work in education, youth mentorship and family counselling.
At the convocation ceremony, the university graduated 1,924 students, including 96 who earned First Class honours and 22 doctoral degree recipients.
