The Chairman of Epe Local Government Area in Lagos State, Surah Animashaun, has sworn in newly appointed Supervisory Councillors, Special Advisers, and Senior Special Assistants at the council headquarters in Ita-Marin, Epe.
In a statement released on Saturday, Animashaun described the inauguration ceremony as a significant milestone for her administration. She said the appointments represented a call for the officials to serve the residents of Epe with integrity, dedication, and tangible results.
According to her, the new appointees are expected to contribute meaningfully to the development of the council and support the administration’s commitment to progress and visionary leadership. She added that her government would continue to prioritise infrastructure development, as well as youth and women empowerment, to enhance community growth.
Speaking at the event, a former Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly and member of the Lagos State Governance Advisory Council, Adeyemi Ikuforiji, praised the chairman’s leadership style. He urged the newly inaugurated officials to support the administration’s development agenda with diligence and commitment.
Also addressing the gathering, the member representing Epe Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives of Nigeria, Wale Raji, congratulated the appointees and encouraged them to justify the confidence placed in them by serving the people faithfully. He also called on them to help bring the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu closer to the grassroots.
Similarly, the lawmaker representing Epe Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Abiodun Tobun, commended Animashaun for her commitment to the development of Epe. He urged the new officials to work collaboratively with the administration to sustain progress and deliver democratic dividends to residents.
Among dignitaries present at the ceremony were the Vice Chairman of Epe Local Government, Sikiru Owolomoshe; former member of the House of Representatives, Bola Gbabijo; former commissioner of the Lagos State Local Government Service Commission, Ahmed Seriki; former chairman of Epe Local Government, Hassan Adedoyin; and Director of Lekki Free Zone Parcel B, Tunde Ogunkoya.
