Prominent Ibadan son and APC chieftain, Prince Ayodeji Abass-Aleshinloye (MDII), has extended heartfelt congratulations to His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Dr) Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin (Ige Olakulehin I), the Olubadan of Ibadanland, on the double celebration of his 90th birthday and the first anniversary of his ascension to the throne.
In a statement released through his media office, Aleshinloye praised the monarch’s unwavering dedication to the welfare of his people, describing his reign as a blessing to Ibadanland.
“This momentous occasion marks not just a milestone in His Majesty’s life, but also a testament to his exemplary leadership and tireless commitment to the progress of our land,” he said.
Aleshinloye commended Oba Olakulehin’s visionary initiative to tackle open defecation by constructing public toilet facilities in the community, calling it a powerful demonstration of his concern for public health and sanitation.
“His Imperial Majesty has shown outstanding leadership by taking bold steps to improve hygiene and living standards,” he said. “This initiative reflects his deep commitment to the well-being of his people and sets a new standard for traditional leadership in public health.”
The former ALGON Chairman also lauded the Olubadan for promoting peace, unity, and cultural harmony within Ibadan and across Oyo State. According to him, the monarch’s reign has fostered socio-cultural cooperation, strengthened communal ties, and ensured peaceful coexistence among diverse ethnic groups in the region.
“I commend His Imperial Majesty for championing development, peace, and unity both within our traditional institutions and the wider society. His reign has brought progress, harmony, and a renewed sense of identity to Ibadanland,” Aleshinloye said.
He concluded with prayers for the monarch’s continued health and wisdom:
“I wish His Imperial Majesty a joyous birthday and a prosperous reign. May God continue to bless him with strength, long life, and divine wisdom as he leads our great city into greater heights.”
