The Federal High Court in Lagos has convicted three additional suspects arrested at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) complex in Abeokuta, Ogun State, for offences related to internet fraud.

Vacation judge, Justice Deinde Dipeolu, handed down the convictions on Monday after the defendants — Adenekan Ayinde, Oyatokun Qudus, and Adisa Okikiade — pleaded guilty to separate charges filed against them by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The trio were among 93 suspected internet fraudsters apprehended by EFCC operatives on August 10, 2025, during a sting operation at a hotel within the OOPL premises where they were allegedly holding a “Yahoo party.”
Their conviction brings the total number of those already sentenced in connection with the raid to seven. Justice Dipeolu had earlier, on Friday, August 15, convicted four other suspects. The EFCC confirmed that the arraignment of the remaining suspects would continue in batches.
Individual Sentences
- Adenekan Ayinde was arraigned on a one-count charge of impersonating a white American woman via a Google account to fraudulently obtain benefits. He admitted the offence, confirmed he had refunded N200,000 to his victim, and forfeited an iPhone 14 Pro Max to the government. He was sentenced to one month in prison with the option of a ₦300,000 fine.
- Oyatokun Qudus pleaded guilty to operating an Instagram account under the false identity of “Eric Melissa,” a white female, with intent to defraud. He was similarly sentenced to one month imprisonment with the option of a ₦300,000 fine.
- Adisa Okikiade was convicted for impersonating “Anthony Krenn” on Google to deceive unsuspecting victims. He also pleaded guilty and was sentenced to one month in prison with the option of a fine.
The EFCC said the convictions reaffirm its resolve to prosecute cybercrime cases diligently and assured that the remaining suspects from the OOPL operation would face trial in due course.
