Three police officers were fatally shot while executing an arrest warrant at a farmhouse on Haar Road near Spring Grove, a rural community in York County, Pennsylvania. Two other officers were wounded and remain in critical but stable condition.
Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro described the incident as “an absolutely tragic and devastating day for York County and the entire commonwealth.” He called for prayers for the victims’ families and praised the officers for their service, noting the pride their loved ones felt in protecting the public. Shapiro also confirmed that U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi offered federal support in the investigation. He ordered flags to be flown at half-mast to honor the fallen officers.
Authorities reported that the suspected shooter was also killed during the confrontation. Early reports indicate that the shooting was domestic-related, with officers serving a warrant tied to stalking and criminal trespass charges.
A neighbor recalled hearing at least 30 gunshots and seeing two officers lying on the ground, describing a chaotic and frightening scene.
The FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) are assisting local law enforcement with the investigation. FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed federal agents are on site supporting authorities.
