The Public Enlightenment Movement has launched the first phase of a programme showcasing developments under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Northern Nigeria.
Coordinator Nuhu Abdullahi, in a video shared on X by Imran Muhammad, said the initiative aims to highlight tangible progress rather than engage in politics. “It is an honour to speak today as someone deeply invested in the future of Nigeria, particularly northern Nigeria. We are here to reflect on the real achievements under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the past two years. Seeing is believing,” he said.
Abdullahi added that the team visited multiple project sites to witness progress firsthand. “We reviewed video footage of several infrastructure projects across northern Nigeria. We owe a great deal of gratitude to President Tinubu for his dedication to the region’s growth,” he noted.
Among the projects highlighted:
- Kaduna–Kano Rail Project: Progress has increased from 15% to 53% completion.
- Kanumara E Railway: Completion rose from 5% to 60%.
- Other initiatives: Runehope Estates, lower food prices, the ongoing 140km-by-two-lane Abuja–Kaduna Expressway, and enhanced security in the region.
Abdullahi emphasized that this is only the first phase of the Public Enlightenment Movement’s efforts. “Phases two, three, and four are coming. We aim to show the public the progress being achieved under Tinubu’s administration,” he said.
He urged the public to recognize and support these developments. “It is easy to overlook progress during challenging times, but real transformation is happening in Arewa. Let us encourage these initiatives and take pride in the progress rather than focus on political differences,” Abdullahi concluded.
The movement also announced that videos of the site visits would soon be made publicly available.
Separately, President Tinubu reaffirmed his commitment to national unity and assured Christian communities in northern Nigeria of his administration’s dedication to fairness and inclusivity across all faiths.
