Former Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, Kabiru Taminu Turaki (SAN), has officially submitted his Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms to contest for the position of National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Turaki, widely regarded as the consensus candidate of the party’s major stakeholders, submitted his forms on Monday at the PDP National Convention Organising Committee Secretariat, located at Legacy House, Shehu Shagari Way, Maitama, Abuja.
He was accompanied to the secretariat by close allies, political associates, and supporters, who described his candidacy as a unifying force for the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The PDP has scheduled its Elective National Convention for November 15–16, 2025, in Ibadan, Oyo State, where new national officers are expected to emerge.
Turaki, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, previously served in the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan and has been an influential voice within the PDP since its formation.
More details are expected as preparations for the convention gather momentum.
