The elections, held on Saturday, featured contests for 68 positions, comprising six Area Council chairmanship seats and 62 councillorship slots.

As of about 7:35 p.m., checks on the IReV portal indicated that results from several polling units across the six area councils had been uploaded.

In the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), 847 results out of 1,401 polling units were available on the portal. Kwali Area Council had 75 of its 201 polling unit results uploaded, while Kuje recorded 115 out of 262.

Gwagwalada showed 204 results from its 338 polling units, while Bwari had 255 of 485 results reflected online. In Abaji Area Council, 42 out of 135 polling unit results were accessible at the time of filing this report.

Earlier reports indicated that voting concluded in most polling units by the afternoon, paving the way for sorting and counting of ballots.

INEC is overseeing the elections across 2,822 polling units in the FCT, with more than 1.6 million registered voters expected to participate in the exercise.
