Lagos, Nigeria – In celebration of the 2025 Children’s Day, the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV), a youth-focused initiative of the Inspector General of Police, is organizing a special event aimed at honoring and empowering the next generation of Nigerians. The event will take place on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at the prestigious Police College, Oba Akinjobi Way, Ikeja, Lagos, beginning at 10:00 AM.

Themed “For Every Child, Every Right,” the celebration is dedicated to promoting awareness about the rights, dreams, and boundless potential of Nigerian children. It will feature a vibrant mix of educational, entertaining, and motivational activities designed to engage young minds while instilling values of peace, unity, and self-worth.
The day’s agenda includes inspiring keynote speeches from child rights advocates and police officials, intellectually stimulating quizzes and debates, and an assortment of fun games and interactive sessions. Children will also have the opportunity to showcase their talents, voice their opinions, and connect with peers from various schools.
This year’s event is exclusively open to specially invited schools from across Lagos, and there will be no gate fee. The inclusive nature of the programme underscores POCACOV’s commitment to ensuring that every child, regardless of background, feels seen, heard, and valued.
Speaking ahead of the event, POCACOV officials emphasized the importance of nurturing young minds in a positive environment. “Children are the future of our nation. This celebration is more than a fun day—it’s about reinforcing their sense of self-worth and making sure they understand their rights and responsibilities as citizens,” one of the organizers said.
Founded as a proactive initiative by the Inspector General of Police, POCACOV continues to play a vital role in crime prevention, youth empowerment, and nation-building. Through strategic programmes such as sensitization campaigns, lectures, vocational training, and sporting events, the campaign actively engages Nigerian youths in meaningful and constructive ways.
This Children’s Day celebration represents another step in POCACOV’s enduring mission to create a safer, more inclusive society where children can thrive free from fear, violence, and marginalization.

As Nigeria commemorates its young citizens on this special day, POCACOV invites all stakeholders—from educators to parents and community leaders—to reaffirm their commitment to protecting and nurturing the nation’s children.
