The President of the Nigerian Yoruba Community in Diaspora, Benin Republic, Alhaji Mutiu Adelabu Ola Oluwa, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to the families of the late Engr. Muritala Adigun, former Chairman of the Saki community in Benin Republic, and Alhaji Salami Fasasi, on the joyous union of their children, Aremou and Adenike.

Demonstrating exemplary leadership, Alhaji Ola Oluwa led a delegation from the Yoruba community in Cotonou to celebrate with the couple and their families. He expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for granting the couple the grace and favor to begin this new chapter of their lives successfully.

The solemnization of the union between Aremou and Adenike took place on March 31, 2025, at the Mosque Centrale de Tokan in Calavi, Benin Republic. The Islamic marriage rites were officiated by Sheik Alhaji Ayuba Azakawy, popularly known as the Alfa Agba of the Saki community in Cotonou. In his sermon, he offered heartfelt prayers for the couple, asking Almighty Allah to bless and guide them throughout their marital journey. He also advised them to remain steadfast on the path of righteousness, emphasizing that true success lies in unwavering faith and obedience to Allah.

Following the religious ceremony, a grand reception was held at Domicile de la Mariée (Tokan, opposite Pharmacie St Pio). The event was filled with joy, dancing, and celebration as family members, friends, and community leaders came together to honor the couple.

The bride’s mother, Alhaja Naimot Maliki, was visibly overjoyed as she celebrated the occasion. She expressed deep gratitude to Almighty Allah for making the day a reality and prayed fervently for the continued success and happiness of the couple.

Similarly, the bride’s father, Alhaji Salami Fasasi, gave thanks to Allah for granting him the opportunity to witness his daughter’s wedding. He also appreciated all those who attended and supported the event, making it a memorable day.

The ceremony was graced by several distinguished guests and leaders of various Yoruba communities in the diaspora, including:

Alhaji Muftau Folarin, Chairman of the Egba Community, Cotonou

Alhaji Abdul Majeed Isola, a respected elder from Osogbo

Alhaja Mulikat Durojaye, a community leader from Lagos

Also present were several prominent members of the Nigerian Yoruba community in Cotonou and other well-wishers from across the region.

The event was a vibrant showcase of Yoruba culture, unity, and faith, leaving lasting memories for all who attended.
