Multiple passengers were injured on Friday following a collision between two Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) buses at Sawmill, along the route toward Dopemu in Lagos State.
Eyewitnesses reported that several passengers sustained injuries and are currently receiving medical attention. Emergency responders are also working to secure the damaged buses. However, authorities have not yet confirmed the exact number of casualties or the cause of the crash.
This incident comes just days after another fatal road accident in Lagos. SaharaReporters earlier reported that two Suzuki mini commercial buses—commonly known as Korope—were involved in a deadly crash along Mobolaji Bank Anthony Way, inward Maryland, near Temac Filling Station in Ikeja.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) confirmed the incident through a statement by its Director of Public Affairs and Enlightenment, Adebayo Taofiq. Preliminary findings suggest that one of the vehicles, allegedly speeding recklessly, lost control, rammed into a stationary bus, and fatally hit a pedestrian.
