My fellow Nigerians, Africans, and citizens of the world,

Today, we gather with a shared purpose — to champion peace, understanding, and unity across our land. We live in a time when terrorism, ethnic tensions, and religious divisions threaten the very soul of our continent. Yet, I say to you: we are not helpless, and we are not powerless. We are the architects of our destiny, and together, we can rebuild hope and shape a brighter tomorrow.

In Nigeria, the scourge of terrorism has left deep scars. The brutal acts of Boko Haram have claimed countless lives, destroyed communities, and torn families apart. But we must pause and ask ourselves: what truly fuels this violence? Is it merely internal discord, or are unseen external forces also pulling the strings?

Indeed, we cannot ignore the shadows of foreign influence. Western interests, extremist groups, and hidden actors have often manipulated local tensions to serve their own ends — providing funds, weapons, and ideologies that sow chaos. Yet, we must also face an uncomfortable truth: our internal weaknesses have made such interference possible.

We have allowed ethnic and religious differences to divide us. We have permitted mistrust, fear, and hatred to take root where unity and compassion should thrive. This, my people, is where our healing must begin.

First, our governments must embrace transparency, accountability, and justice. Leadership must prioritize the welfare of the people — ensuring access to education, jobs, and equal opportunities. A society where citizens feel valued and heard leaves little room for extremism to grow.

Second, we must nurture a culture of peace and mutual respect. Our diversity is not a curse — it is our greatest strength. Let us teach our children to see humanity before tribe, faith, or tongue; to understand that compassion and coexistence are the true foundations of progress.

Third, as Africans, we must recognize that our destinies are intertwined. Our challenges — poverty, insecurity, and underdevelopment — know no borders. We must therefore unite our knowledge, resources, and willpower to confront them together. When one African nation rises, all of Africa rises.

To those who may be drawn toward extremism or division, I say this: you are more than what hatred tells you to be. You are capable of greatness. Your identity is not limited to your ethnicity or religion; it is anchored in your humanity, dignity, and potential.

Let us rise, then, above the petty quarrels and divisions that have held us back for too long. Let us channel our collective creativity, strength, and faith to rebuild a continent worthy of its promise.

We can do this. We must do this. Together, let us forge a path of peace, unity, and prosperity for Nigeria, for Africa, and for generations yet unborn.

Thank you.
