Senate President Godswill Akpabio has commended Nigerian youths, saying they possess the talent and determination to excel globally if given the right support.
Akpabio made the remark while hosting 11-year-old Miss Cara Victor Antai, who won a Bronze medal at the 2025 TeenEagle Global Final 2 held at the University of Surrey, United Kingdom. The reception took place at his country home in Ukana, Essien Udim Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.

In a statement signed by his Special Assistant on Media, Jackson Udom, the Senate President praised the young achiever and her family.
“I congratulate you, my daughter, on this great feat. It shows that Nigerians, when encouraged by the right government agencies, can achieve whatever they set their minds to. This award is a call for more hard work. I also congratulate your parents, Dr. and Mrs. Antai, for nurturing you to this level,” Akpabio said.
The TeenEagle competition, which began online and drew over 20,000 participants from 69 countries, culminated in the Global Final 2 held between July 27 and August 3 at Surrey, UK. Nigeria was represented by eight students—five from NTIC Abuja and three from NTIC Yobe.
Competing in the TeenEagle 1 category, which assessed reading, listening, writing, and speaking skills, Cara secured third place (Bronze) and received a Special Award for Best in Charisma.
