The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has disqualified Engineer Kayode Ojo from participating in the party’s governorship primary scheduled to hold in Ekiti State on October 27.
This development was announced on Thursday in Abuja by the party’s Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Duro Meseko, while briefing journalists on the screening outcome for aspirants.
Meseko confirmed that Governor Abiodun Oyebanji and Omolayo Oluremi were cleared to contest in the primary election.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has fixed the Ekiti governorship election for July 20, 2026.
The reason for Ojo’s disqualification was not immediately disclosed, but party sources said the NWC reached the decision after a review of reports submitted by the screening and appeals committees.
Details are expected to emerge in the coming days as the APC moves forward with preparations for the Ekiti primary.
