In a fresh wave of violence, armed bandits attacked two brothers on their farmland in Lema community, Edu Local Government Area, Kwara State, on Friday morning. One of the victims was killed instantly, while the other sustained critical, life-threatening injuries.

According to Nupeko TV, the assailants struck the farm, located a short distance from the main settlement, highlighting the worsening insecurity in Lafiagi Emirate and across Kwara North. Residents and farmers in the region now face heightened risks of attacks, even near their homes.
The injured brother is currently receiving emergency medical attention, while the community mourns the loss of the slain farmer. Local authorities and security teams are responding to the incident, and further updates are expected.
This attack comes just days after coordinated assaults in Motokun and Agboro communities in Patigi Local Government Area, confirmed by the Kwara State Police Command. Six residents of Motokun were abducted during the raids, and six others sustained gunshot injuries, with one female victim later succumbing to her wounds at a hospital.
The attackers subsequently targeted a private company in Agboro, where one police officer was killed in the line of duty, and property was vandalized, according to a statement signed by the police spokesperson, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi.
The incidents underscore the growing insecurity challenges in Kwara State, prompting increased vigilance from both residents and law enforcement.
