Popular Beninese TikTok content creator Flapacha Premier has been remanded in custody by the Court for the Suppression of Economic and Terrorism Offenses (Criet). He was arrested on August 8 and formally placed under detention on Thursday, August 14, 2025.

Authorities say he is facing charges after allegedly staging a kidnapping on TikTok to solicit money from followers, along with suspected involvement in cybercrime.
According to investigators, the case began when TikTok flagged suspicious content to local authorities. The National Center for Digital Investigation (CNIN) accused Flapacha of posting two videos in which he appeared to abduct and assault another creator, identified as Jérémie Degamer.
Initial findings revealed that the dramatic scenes were staged by both men. The pair reportedly faked the kidnapping and detention, then launched live fundraising appeals asking viewers to “help” the supposed victim.
After questioning the suspects, prosecutors decided to place Flapacha Premier under a detention warrant. Data retrieved from his phone allegedly showed evidence of cybercrime activities, investigators said.
