Ovie Success Ossai, Senior Special Assistant on Media to Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, has announced a special support package for Comfort Emmanson, the Ibom Air passenger recently released from Kirikiri Prison.

In a Wednesday Instagram post, Ossai revealed that Emmanson has been offered a job in Delta State with a monthly salary of N500,000. In addition, he promised to sponsor an all-expenses-paid trip to the state, covering flight tickets, accommodation at a five-star hotel, guided tours, and attendance at the Delta Social Media Summit, scheduled for August 28 in Asaba.
“I’m offering Comfort Emmanson a complimentary trip to Delta State, known as the Big Heart and Home of Global Tourism Hub. Additionally, a job opportunity with a monthly salary of N500,000 has been secured for her,” Ossai wrote.
“All expenses, including flight tickets, accommodation in a five-star hotel, and tour costs, will be fully covered,” he added.
The gesture, according to Ossai, aims to help Emmanson relax and recover after her prison ordeal. He also urged anyone in contact with her to encourage her to reach out via Instagram to claim the offer.
Emmanson had expressed her distress following her release, noting the emotional toll of her incarceration. She shared on Instagram:
“Thank you so much for all the Prayers, Love, and support. I’ve been released from prison, but I’m still in pain due to how I was treated. I just need some rest and medical treatment before I give my own version of the event.”
Emmanson was arrested on August 10, 2025, following an altercation on an Ibom Air flight. She was accused of refusing to switch off her mobile phone before take-off and allegedly assaulting a flight purser. She was arraigned on a five-count charge and remanded at Kirikiri Correctional Facility, pending fulfillment of bail conditions.
The incident went viral after videos circulated online showing her being restrained by airport security and allegedly assaulting an air hostess. However, the case was struck out by Ikeja Magistrates’ Court after the police prosecution team requested withdrawal of the charges.
Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo condemned the circulation of the footage, promising sanctions against those responsible. Human rights activist Aisha Yesufu criticized the handling of the case as “selective justice,” while lawyer Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya called for transparency.
Following the court decision, all criminal complaints against Emmanson were withdrawn, and Ibom Air’s lifetime flying ban on her was lifted.
