An APC chieftain and grassroots politician, Prince Ayodeji Abass-Aleshinloye MDII, has felicitated with Nigerians on the occasion of this year’s Democracy Day celebration and urge them to work towards a harmonious and inclusive society.
In a statement released through his media office, Prince Aleshinloye also called on Nigerians to reflect on the significance of the day in our nation’s political history.
“As we celebrate Democracy Day, I wish to extend my warm felicitations to all Nigerians, particularly the good people of Oyo state. Today, we commemorate the triumph of democratic principles and the resilience of our nation’s democratic journey,” he said.
“As a former Local Government Chairman, I reflect on the progress we have made and the challenges we’ve overcome. Our democracy has provided opportunities for growth, development, and civic engagement. However, we must continue to strengthen our institutions, promote transparency, and uphold the rule of law. I also commend the security agencies for their tireless efforts to maintain peace and stability”.
“Leaders should always strive to ensure economic prosperity and a conducive secured environment for people to express their potentials, especially at the grassroots level for opportunities because many of these ethnic and religious problems are products of economic tensions. What is expected is that all hands should be on deck to build a Nigeria of our collective dream where freedom, peace and unity abound, and where the labour of our heroes past, shall never be in vain.”
“I urge all citizens to remain vigilant and committed to democratic values. Let us work together to build a more inclusive, equitable, and prosperous society. As we celebrate Democracy Day, let’s reaffirm our dedication to the principles of democracy and the well-being of our great nation”.
“To my fellow citizens, I encourage you to participate actively in the democratic process, exercise your rights, and hold leaders accountable. Together, we can build a brighter future for Nigeria.
“It is also important that Nigerians leverage on the Democracy Day event to pray for the leadership of the nation at the moment, and the leadership at the state levels, and also pray that the lofty desire of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to rid Nigeria of the economy challenges should produce the needed result. May the good Lord bless Oyo state people in particular and Nigerians in general on this momentous period of Democracy Day Celebration.” the ex Algon boss concluded
