The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), in collaboration with the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) and the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), has completed the deportation of 192 foreign nationals convicted of cybercrime and related financial offenses.
According to a statement from the EFCC on Saturday, the deportation exercise, which began in August, ended on October 16, 2025, with the repatriation of the final batch of 51 convicts, including 50 Chinese nationals and one Tunisian.
The agency said the convicts were part of a syndicate arrested in December 2024 during a major operation in Victoria Island, Lagos. The suspects—linked to Genting International Co. Limited—were convicted by the Federal High Court for cybercrime, money laundering, and Ponzi scheme operations.

Earlier batches of convicts, including nationals from the Philippines, Malaysia, Pakistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Timor-Leste, were deported between August and mid-October 2025.

The EFCC stated that investigations revealed the foreigners managed fraudulent digital platforms, trained local recruits, and operated online Ponzi schemes targeting victims both within and outside Nigeria.
The commission said the deportation was carried out in line with court directives and immigration procedures.
