Governor ‘Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has extended heartfelt greetings to Muslims in the state and around the world as they celebrate the 2025 Eid-el-Kabir festival.

In a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Dr. Sulaimon Olanrewaju, the governor called on the Muslim Ummah to use the sacred occasion for renewed prayers and reflection—particularly for the peace, progress, and development of Oyo State, Nigeria, and its leadership.

Governor Makinde described Eid-el-Kabir, also known as Eid Adha, as a significant and spiritual celebration that symbolizes faith, devotion, and sacrifice. He offered prayers that God would accept the worship and sacrifices of the faithful.

“I congratulate my Muslim brothers and sisters in Oyo State and across the globe on witnessing Eid-el-Kabir 2025,” he said. “This festival is a time to demonstrate our dedication to God through acts of worship, prayer, and sacrifice.”

Expressing gratitude to the Muslim community for their steadfast support and prayers, Governor Makinde acknowledged their role in the success of his administration, which has now entered its seventh year. He reaffirmed his commitment to putting the people first, noting that the past six years have brought accelerated and sustainable development to the state.

“I urge our Muslim brothers and sisters to continue praying for this government, which has served them diligently for six years. Your continued support is crucial, and we remain committed to prioritising your welfare,” the governor added.
