The Director General of the Ekiti State Bureau of Tourism Development, Ambassador Wale Ojo-Lanre, has been named the winner of the Tourism Promoter of the Year Award by the National Association of Nigeria Travel Agencies (NANTA), Western Zone.

In a statement, Ojo-Lanre described the recognition as a humbling acknowledgment of Ekiti State’s efforts to reposition tourism as a tool for sustainable development under the leadership of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji.
He, however, expressed regret that he could not attend the 3rd Annual NANTA Western Zone Symposium, held on September 25, 2025, due to urgent state commitments.
“It pains me greatly to miss this glorious occasion where distinguished stakeholders of our industry will converge. I am, however, committed to receiving this award at a later date in Ekiti, where we shall also celebrate the enduring partnership between NANTA and the Ekiti State Bureau of Tourism Development,” Ojo-Lanre stated.
The tourism DG also extended his best wishes for a successful symposium and reaffirmed Ekiti State’s commitment to supporting NANTA’s mission of advancing tourism practice and professionalism across Nigeria.
