The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested Prophet Adefolusho Aanu Olasele, also known as Abbas Ajakaiye, the founder and General Overseer of The Turn of Mercy Church, for allegedly orchestrating multiple cross-border drug trafficking operations.

Prophet Adefolusho was apprehended on Sunday, August 3, at his church in the Lekki area of Lagos. NDLEA officers waited until he completed the evening service before arresting him. He had reportedly fled to Ghana in June after evading two earlier arrest attempts, following the seizure of two major shipments of “Ghana Loud,” a potent strain of cannabis.

Authorities linked him to the smuggling of 200kg of cannabis seized at Okun Ajah beach on June 4 and another 700kg recovered from a delivery van on July 6. During interrogation, he admitted to transporting the drugs via waterways from Ghana into Nigeria.
In related operations across the country:
- Lagos: On August 7, NDLEA raided a residence in Parkview Estate, Ikoyi, arresting Benjamin Udo Ukoh and seizing 15.63kg of Canadian Loud cannabis.

- Kano (again): On August 8, Usman Musa (30) was arrested with 20,000 tramadol pills and 200 diazepam ampoules at Gadar Tamburawa.
Meanwhile, the NDLEA continued its War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) campaign, carrying out sensitization programs in schools, religious centers, military installations, and correctional facilities across Oyo, Kano, Yobe, Benue, Ekiti, and Anambra states.
NDLEA Chairman, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd), commended the agency’s teams for their vigilance and commitment, urging them to sustain the balanced approach to drug control nationwide.
