Senator Natasha H. Akpoti-Uduaghan’s residence in Ihima, Okehi Local Government Area of Kogi State, was attacked by suspected gunmen on Tuesday night—marking the second such incident in just two months.

According to Vanguard, the assailants arrived late in the night, shattering windows and attempting further destruction before being confronted by a joint response team comprising local police, vigilante members, and community youths.
One of the attackers, identified as Suberu Jose—a resident of the area—was apprehended during the incident. Security sources revealed that Jose confessed to participating in three previous attacks on the senator’s property and is believed to have political ties to individuals opposing her.
Following his arrest, a mob attempted to lynch him, but he was rescued and taken into custody by the police. A cutlass and some charms, allegedly belonging to him, were recovered at the scene. The remaining attackers managed to flee and are still at large.
This latest attack follows an earlier one on April 15, 2025, which caused property damage but led to no arrests. Authorities view Jose’s arrest as a potential breakthrough in identifying those behind the recurring violence.
Tensions have been escalating around Senator Natasha in recent months. She is currently facing two criminal charges filed by the Federal Government after publicly accusing Senate President Godswill Akpabio of sexual harassment—a move that resulted in her six-month suspension from the Senate.
In response to the renewed attack, her media team urged the public to remain calm. Senator Natasha reaffirmed her commitment to the people of Kogi Central and called for an end to political intimidation and violence.
