A Federal Character Commissioner-designate, Prince Ayodeji Abass-Aleshinloye (MDII), has congratulated Nigerians on the nation’s 65th Independence anniversary.
In a statement issued through his media office in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, Aleshinloye called on Nigerians to work together for the progress and prosperity of the country.
He said:
“Warmest wishes to our great nation on this momentous occasion of Independence Day! May this day remind us of our rich heritage, resilience, and progress. Let us celebrate our freedom and sovereignty while working together for a brighter future.
“It is time to show the world once again that we are a great people from a great nation. Let us continue to pursue the prosperity and advancement of our dear country. This anniversary is also a time to renew our pledge to uphold national unity so we can live in peace and harmony.”
Aleshinloye urged Nigerians to reflect on the sacrifices of the nation’s past leaders and ensure their struggles were not in vain.
“As we rejoice today, let us remember our past heroes and pledge to uphold the freedom and unity they fought for. We must all contribute to building a nation of peace, prosperity, and happiness,” he added.
The former ALGON chairman further called on citizens to rally behind President Bola Tinubu’s visionary leadership, stressing that collective efforts were needed to make Nigeria greater.
“Let us put aside our differences and work together towards a brighter future for all. Together, we can achieve greatness. May the flag of our country fly higher each year as we celebrate our independence,” he concluded.
