The city of Ogbomoso in Oyo State will host its maiden Education Summit on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, as part of a bold step toward reshaping the region’s educational framework. The landmark event is scheduled to take place at The Great Hall of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), starting at 10:00 a.m.

Organized under the 25-year development blueprint of His Imperial Majesty, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye, Orumogege III, the Soun of Ogbomosoland, the summit is aimed at fostering long-term transformation in the education sector. The initiative is being spearheaded by the Ogbomoso Education Committee, chaired by distinguished academic and policy expert, Professor Segun Ajiboye.
Themed “Community Partnership in Education in Ogbomosoland,” the summit will serve as a platform for collaboration among key stakeholders, including government officials, educators, community leaders, and development partners. It targets representatives from the five local government areas of Ogbomosoland, with the goal of building a unified strategy for educational advancement.
The Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye, will serve as the Chief Host, while Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde is expected to grace the occasion as Special Guest of Honour.
Expected participants include education officers, political officeholders, lecturers, teachers from both public and private institutions, student union leaders, PTA representatives, and members of professional bodies such as ANCOPPS, AOPSHON, NUT, and NAPPS. NGOs and other stakeholders in the education sector are also invited.
