Former Anambra State Governor and Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, has declared that he is not intimidated by any region in Nigeria and will continue to travel across the country to support causes that promote national development.

Obi made this statement on Thursday in Onitsha in reaction to remarks reportedly made by Edo State Governor, Mr. Monday Okpebholo, who suggested that Obi should seek clearance before visiting Edo State.
“I have no fear of visiting any state in Nigeria, especially when the visit is for noble causes such as education, healthcare, and poverty alleviation,” Obi stated.
He expressed dismay over the controversy surrounding his recent visit to Benin City, clarifying that the trip was non-political and solely focused on advancing healthcare services in the state.
“My visit to Benin was to contribute to improving the lives of the people. If we have well-trained doctors and nurses, the people will enjoy better healthcare. What I expect from the governor is to support such efforts aimed at building a better society,” he added.
Obi made the remarks during a visit to his alma mater in Onitsha, where he made a donation to support educational development. The Archbishop of Onitsha, Most Rev. Valerian Okeke, who received the contribution on behalf of the school, commended Obi and other alumni for their continued commitment to education and national progress.
The school’s Senior Prefect, Master Ejike Ekene, described Obi as a “role model” and expressed gratitude for his generosity.
