Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, on Monday led a high-powered delegation on a series of strategic visits in Ibadan, Oyo State, where they met with key leaders to discuss Nigeria’s future.

Obi, accompanied by Lagos Labour Party governorship candidate Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, Dr. Yunusa Tanko, and Segun Adebanjo, first paid a courtesy call on the newly installed Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Rasheed Adewolu Ladoja, at his palace.
Following their meeting with the monarch, the team proceeded to Abeokuta to visit former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

In a statement shared on his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, Obi said the visits were an opportunity to exchange views on the state of the nation and explore solutions to Nigeria’s pressing challenges.

“These engagements reinforced my conviction that Nigeria’s problems can be solved by bringing together a competent team with the capacity, compassion, and commitment to build a new Nigeria,” Obi wrote. “The coming together of such a team can make a new Nigeria POssible.”
The visit comes at a time when conversations around national unity, fairness, and justice remain central to Nigeria’s political discourse, with Obi and other opposition figures calling for a more inclusive approach to governance.
