Alhaji Ademola Alli, a prominent aspirant for the Oyo Central Senatorial seat, has hailed the nomination of Senator Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, describing the development as a historic milestone in the city’s traditional leadership.
In a personally signed statement issued on Tuesday in Ibadan, Alli congratulated the former governor and senator on his nomination by the Olubadan-in-Council. The announcement comes after the completion of the mandatory 21-day mourning period for the late Olubadan, Oba Olalekan Balogun, who passed away on July 7, 2025.
Alli noted that Ladoja’s elevation was unanimously endorsed during a council meeting held at the Oke-Aremo palace, where the nomination was moved by the Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba Tajudeen Ajibola, and seconded by Osi Olubadan, Oba Eddy Oyewole.

He praised the late Oba Balogun for his dedicated, albeit brief, reign, and extended condolences to his family and the entire Olubadan-in-Council.
Alli emphasized that Ladoja’s emergence represents a new chapter for Ibadan, symbolizing unity, continuity, and renewal. He expressed strong confidence in Ladoja’s capacity to uphold the values and responsibilities of the throne, citing his rich background in governance and his deep-rooted ties to the city.
“Oba Ladoja’s blend of traditional wisdom and modern leadership experience makes him well-positioned to steer Ibadan into a future of stability and progress,” Alli stated.
He also called on all sons and daughters of Ibadan, both at home and in the diaspora, to rally behind the new Olubadan and promote peace and harmony across all divides.
Alli concluded by pledging, on behalf of his campaign team and supporters, to support the vision and leadership of the incoming monarch for the betterment of Ibadanland.
