Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Clement Yunana has tragically died following a hit-and-run incident in Gombe State.
The incident occurred on Thursday around 5:00 p.m. near the Matrix Fuel Station along Bauchi Road in the Tumfure area of Akko Local Government Area. Security analyst and counter-insurgency expert, Zagazola Makama, confirmed the development.

ASP Yunana, aged 50, was reportedly attempting to cross the road when he was struck by an unidentified vehicle that fled the scene without stopping.
He was attached to the Railway Police Outstation in Bajoga, located in Funakaye Local Government Area.
Eyewitnesses said police personnel at the scene quickly transported him to the Federal Teaching Hospital in Gombe, where he was admitted for emergency treatment. Despite efforts to save his life, he was pronounced dead at about 6:50 p.m. that same day.
His remains have been deposited at the hospital’s mortuary for an autopsy.
Police authorities have launched an investigation to apprehend the driver involved in the fatal crash and have appealed to members of the public to provide any useful information that could help identify the suspect vehicle.
Efforts to get an official statement from the Gombe State Police Command spokesperson, Buhari Abdullahi, were unsuccessful at the time of reporting.
This latest tragedy follows a similar incident in June, when Superintendent of Police (SP) Mustapha Garba, an officer with the Bauchi State Police Command, died in a car accident on his way to his wedding. He was travelling with three friends in a Mercedes-Benz when their vehicle collided with an oncoming Opel Vectra near Bargan Tsamiya in Toro Local Government Area, Bauchi State.
