The Lagmos State Police Command has confirmed that popular TikTok influencer Habeeb Hamzat, popularly known as Peller, is safe following reports of his alleged abduction during a livestream on Wednesday night.
Police spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin told Channels Television’s The Morning Brief on Thursday that preliminary investigations indicate the content creator was at home and unharmed.
“We are investigating the allegation, but we can confirm that Habeeb, known as Peller, is safe at home. His vehicle, phones, and other personal belongings were all intact,” Hundeyin said.
He added that authorities are still reviewing whether the incident was an actual kidnapping, a staged abduction, or a false alarm.
Peller, 20, was reportedly intercepted by armed men while livestreaming his journey home. Video clips shared online show him initially mistaking the men for security operatives before being taken away.
Rising to fame in 2021 for his short-form videos on TikTok, Peller has since expanded his brand to livestream shows and events on Twitch.
