A viral video circulating on social media has sparked outrage after showing Nigerian soldiers subjecting a driver to an unusual punishment along Nsukka Road in Enugu State.
According to eyewitness accounts, the incident occurred after the driver’s vehicle allegedly splashed muddy water on the soldiers as it passed by. In response, the soldiers reportedly stopped the vehicle, ordered the driver out, and instructed him to step into the same puddle.
The footage shows the man reluctantly wading through the murky water as passersby watched in apparent disbelief. Some bystanders could be heard expressing shock, while others recorded the scene on their mobile phones.
The incident has drawn mixed reactions online, with some condemning the soldiers’ actions as an abuse of power and a violation of the driver’s dignity, while others argued that motorists should exercise caution when driving through waterlogged roads to avoid such confrontations.
