President has renewed his controversial stance on Iran, declaring that taking control of the country’s oil resources remains a top priority, while also suggesting the possible targeting of a major export facility.

In an interview with , Trump said he would prefer to “take the oil in Iran” and is considering action against , a strategic hub responsible for over 90 percent of Iran’s crude exports.

Reinforcing his position, Trump described seizing Iran’s oil as his “favorite” option, despite criticism from within the United States.

The remarks highlight a hardline approach toward Iran’s energy sector and signal a possible escalation in rhetoric surrounding one of the country’s most vital economic assets.

Earlier, Trump disclosed that Washington is engaged in ongoing discussions with Iran’s new leadership aimed at ending current military operations. In a statement shared on his account, he said talks were “progressing” and expressed optimism about reaching a resolution, noting that the U.S. is dealing with a leadership he described as “more reasonable.”

However, he stressed that key conditions must be met, including the reopening of the , a critical route for global trade.

Trump warned that failure to secure an agreement could lead to severe military action, including strikes on Iran’s infrastructure such as power plants, oil facilities, and Kharg Island.

He framed the potential response as retaliation for past attacks on Americans, attributing them to Iran’s former leadership.
