Governor has sent the names of two commissioner-nominees to the for screening and confirmation.
The nominees are Dr. Lateef Idowu Oyeleke and Barrister Ayobami Oluwaseun Ojo.
In a letter dated May 26, 2026, addressed to the Speaker of the Assembly, Makinde requested the lawmakers to carry out a thorough and speedy screening process for the nominees.
The governor said the appointments were made in line with Section 192 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as amended.
According to the letter, Makinde informed the House of his intention to present the nominees for confirmation as commissioners in the state executive council and expressed confidence that the lawmakers would give the request prompt consideration.
Dr. Oyeleke previously served as Commissioner for Environment in Oyo State, while Ojo is a former member of the Oyo State House of Assembly, where he represented the Saki East/Atisbo State Constituency.
The statement announcing the nominations was signed by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Dr. Sulaimon Olanrewaju.
