Human rights activist and former presidential candidate, , has emerged as the presidential candidate of the (AAC) for the 2027 general elections.
Sowore secured the party’s ticket during the AAC presidential primary held on Tuesday in , after delegates and party leaders unanimously endorsed his candidacy.
The AAC standard bearer was later presented with the party’s flag amid celebrations by supporters and party members at the venue.
In his acceptance speech, Sowore said the AAC was established to champion the vision of a new Nigeria, stressing that the party remains committed to tackling corruption, insecurity, economic hardship and poor governance in the country.
He also thanked delegates from across Nigeria for their loyalty, sacrifices and continued belief in the party’s ideals ahead of the 2027 elections.
The primary election attracted party faithful and notable figures within the AAC, as political activities continue to gather momentum ahead of the next general elections.
Sowore, who has previously contested for president under the AAC platform, had earlier confirmed his intention to seek the nation’s highest office again during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today programme. However, he maintained that the decision would ultimately rest with party delegates during the primary process.
His emergence now officially positions him as the AAC candidate in the race for the 2027 presidential election.
