Former Southampton and Royal Antwerp striker, , has died at the age of 21, with reports indicating that the circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear.
According to reports by UK outlet The Mirror, the young Nigerian footballer was found dead in Abuja. Authorities are yet to confirm the exact cause of death as investigations continue.
Udoh had recently returned to Nigeria after ending his stint with Czech side Dynamo České Budějovice, a club he joined following his departure from Southampton in 2025.
Belgian club confirmed the tragic news in a statement released on Tuesday via its official X account.
The club expressed sadness over the loss, recalling Udoh’s impact during his time with the Young Reds in the 2023/2024 season, where he scored 12 goals in 21 matches and later made his senior debut against Charleroi.
Royal Antwerp noted that Udoh made 28 official appearances for the club and contributed two assists before securing a move to .

Udoh joined Southampton on a three-and-a-half-year contract but did not make a senior appearance before both parties agreed to part ways in pursuit of regular playing opportunities.

Reacting to the development, former Watford midfielder said he initially struggled to believe the news after waking up to reports of Udoh’s death on Tuesday morning.
He added that some of the late player’s relatives later confirmed the tragic development to him.
