President Tinubu Appoints Governing Council Members for 36 Federal Institutions
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of new governing council members for 36 federal universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education across Nigeria.
The appointments, which take immediate effect, were announced on Wednesday through a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
The new council members were selected to represent various states and regions in accordance with Nigeria’s federal character principle. The appointments are part of the administration’s efforts to strengthen governance and oversight in federal institutions.

These appointments follow the dissolution of the University of Abuja’s governing council earlier this year, amid controversy over the eligibility of its former Vice-Chancellor, Aisha Maikudi.
