Chief Executive Officer of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, has donated 34 campaign vehicles to a support group mobilising grassroots backing for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in the 2027 presidential election.
The vehicles were presented during the official unveiling of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement in Katsina State, marking the commencement of the group’s grassroots mobilisation efforts in northern Nigeria.
Tompolo, who founded and convened the movement, said Katsina was deliberately selected as the first northern state where the initiative would be launched.
As part of the inauguration, 34 local government coordinators were unveiled and handed campaign vehicles at an event held at the People’s Square in Katsina.
Representing Tompolo at the ceremony, High Chief Kestin Ebimorbowei Pondi said the relationship between President Tinubu and the people of Katsina was built on trust, confidence and inclusion.
He charged members of the movement to take the message of the Tinubu administration directly to the people through door-to-door campaigns across wards, communities, markets and households.
Radda Pledges Katsina’s Support
Speaking at the event, Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umar Radda, reaffirmed the state’s support for Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
Radda described Katsina as a stronghold of the All Progressives Congress, APC, noting that all elected political office holders in the state belong to the ruling party.
According to him, the APC structure in Katsina remains united across the state’s 34 local government areas.
“Katsina State is an APC state. Every elected person in Katsina State is a member of the All Progressives Congress, and I want to assure you that Katsina State has a special attachment to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” the governor said.
Radda also highlighted what he described as longstanding political ties between Tinubu and prominent northern leaders, recalling Tinubu’s role in the political realignment that preceded the emergence of former President Muhammadu Buhari in 2015.
He commended Tompolo for choosing Katsina as the first northern state for the launch of the movement.
The governor further pointed to the historical relationship between northern Nigeria and the Niger Delta, citing the establishment of the Presidential Amnesty Programme under the late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua as part of the relationship between the two regions.
Movement Targets Grassroots Mobilisation
Also speaking, the Katsina State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Movement and former Deputy Governor, Tukur Ahmed Jikamshi, said Katsina had historically played an important role in Nigeria’s political development.
He described the launch as an opportunity to deepen grassroots engagement and strengthen support for the Tinubu administration ahead of the 2027 election.
With the inauguration of the 34 coordinators and distribution of the campaign vehicles, the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement is expected to commence full-scale mobilisation across Katsina State.
The coordinators are expected to coordinate the movement’s activities in their respective local government areas and take its campaign message directly to residents ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
