Supporters of Governor Seyi Makinde are set to gather at Mapo Hall, Ibadan, on Thursday, May 14, 2026, for a major political rally aimed at unveiling a new alliance between the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM).
The event, tagged “Unity Mega Rally Ibadan 2026,” is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. and is expected to attract party leaders, loyalists, youth groups, market associations, and political stakeholders from across Oyo State and beyond.
According to information contained in promotional materials for the rally, the gathering will formally present candidates expected to contest various elective positions under the new political alignment ahead of future elections.
The alliance is also being promoted as part of the “GSM 3.0 People-Oriented Agenda,” a political movement linked to Governor Makinde’s administration and leadership structure in Oyo State.
Political observers believe the rally may signal a broader coalition strategy designed to strengthen the governor’s political influence and consolidate support across different blocs within the state.
The event is expected to feature speeches from top PDP and APM figures, cultural displays, entertainment performances, and the formal presentation of candidates under the alliance platform.
The choice of Mapo Hall, one of Ibadan’s historic political venues, is seen by supporters as symbolic of unity and grassroots mobilization as political activities begin to intensify ahead of upcoming electoral contests.
