The Take-It-Back Movement has announced plans to stage a protest at Jabi Lake Park in Abuja over what it described as an alleged attempt to grab public land within the recreational facility.
According to a protest flyer circulating online, the demonstration is scheduled to take place at Jabi Lake Park by 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2026.
The organisers accused the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) of land grabbing and vowed to resist any move they believe could threaten the park and public green spaces in the nation’s capital.
The flyer carried several inscriptions including “Protest to Save Jabi Lake Park,” “Stop the Land Grab,” and “Hands Off Our Park,” while also declaring, “Our Land! Our Park! Our Future! We Say No!”
The group called on residents and supporters to join the protest in solidarity, insisting that public assets must be protected from private interests.
Jabi Lake Park is one of Abuja’s popular relaxation and tourism destinations, attracting residents and visitors for recreation and outdoor activities.
As of the time of filing this report, the FCT Administration had not officially responded to the allegations contained in the protest material.
