The Ambassador-designate of Nigeria to the Republic of Benin, Dr. Mopelola Adeola-Ibrahim, joined Nigerian troops at the Togbin Military Base for the Chief of Army Staff Eid-el-Kabir Sallah Lunch, where she praised the soldiers for their dedication and sacrifice in service to the nation.
Speaking during the event, Adeola-Ibrahim commended the troops for their professionalism, courage, and commitment to maintaining peace and security, describing their service as vital to Nigeria’s stability and regional cooperation.
She noted that the celebration provided an opportunity to appreciate members of the armed forces who continue to work tirelessly, often away from their families, to protect national interests.
The ambassador-designate also encouraged the troops to remain steadfast in their duties while assuring them of the support and appreciation of Nigerians at home and abroad.
The Sallah lunch, organised in line with the tradition of the Chief of Army Staff, brought together military personnel and dignitaries in the spirit of Eid-el-Kabir celebration and solidarity.
The event highlighted the strong bond between Nigeria and the Republic of Benin, while reinforcing morale among troops stationed in the neighbouring country.
