The President of Nigeria Yoruba in Diaspora, Benin Republic, Alhaji Mutiu Adelabu Olaoluwa, has congratulated Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, on his re-election as Governor of Osun State in the just-concluded governorship election.
In a congratulatory video, Olaoluwa described Adeleke’s victory as a well-deserved achievement, while extending his goodwill and best wishes to the governor on behalf of Nigerians of Yoruba descent living in Benin Republic.
The Yoruba leader also congratulated all indigenes of Osun State residing in Benin Republic, particularly members of the Ede community, following Adeleke’s electoral success.
Olaoluwa specifically extended his greetings to prominent members and leaders of the Ede community in Benin Republic, including Alhaji Moshud Odedele, popularly known as Baba Lague; Alhaji Sulaimon Adegboye, Baba Nike; Alhaji Adekunle Aremu, Coordinator, Ede; Balogun Ede in Benin, Alhaji Muhammad Kozeem Adegboye; Alhaji Moshood Osorun, Asiwaju Ede in Diaspora; Alhaji Moruf Alani Adebisi, Otun Asiwaju Ede; Alhaji Adebowale Iyanda Badmus, Governor-General, Nigeria Yoruba in Diaspora, Benin Republic; and Alhaji Olasunkanmi Wakili Olowookere, Osun State Governor in Diaspora.
The congratulatory message, according to Olaoluwa, was also an expression of solidarity with the people of Osun State and members of the Ede community living in Benin Republic.
The gesture reflects the reactions of Nigerians in the diaspora following the outcome of the Osun governorship election, as political stakeholders, supporters and community groups continue to respond to Adeleke’s victory.
While congratulating the governor, Olaoluwa wished Adeleke success as he begins another term in office and expressed hope that his administration would continue to deliver meaningful development to the people of Osun State.
The message also underscores the continued connection between Nigerians living abroad and political developments in their home states, particularly among Yoruba communities in Benin Republic.
Olaoluwa further used the occasion to celebrate the unity and solidarity of Osun indigenes in the diaspora, particularly the Ede community, while extending his best wishes to all members of the community.
