Arsenal F.C. have been crowned Premier League champions for the 2025/26 season after were held to a 1-1 draw by on Tuesday night.
The result confirmed Arsenal as champions with one game remaining, ending the club’s 22-year wait for a league title since the famous “Invincibles” campaign of the 2003/04 season under legendary manager .
Manchester City needed victory at the Vitality Stadium to keep the title race alive, but ’s late equaliser only secured a draw for Pep Guardiola’s side.
After finishing runners-up in the previous three seasons, Arsenal finally sealed the title following a strong late-season run under manager .
The North London club are expected to officially lift the trophy on Sunday at Selhurst Park during their final league match of the campaign.
Arsenal had spent much of the season at the top of the table but briefly looked vulnerable after a 2-1 defeat to Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium in April. However, Arteta’s men responded impressively, reclaiming momentum with a series of important victories to secure their first Premier League triumph in over two decades.
The title also marks Arsenal’s 14th English top-flight championship and Arteta’s second major trophy as manager.
In a statement published on the club’s official website, Arsenal celebrated the achievement, describing the season as “an incredible campaign” that delivered the club’s 14th league crown.
The club highlighted its strong defensive performances, including 19 clean sheets and another Golden Glove-winning campaign for goalkeeper .
Arsenal opened the season with a 1-0 win over at Old Trafford and quickly established themselves as title contenders after winning nine of their opening 10 league matches.
The Gunners also remain in contention for European glory and are preparing for the UEFA Champions League final against later this month in Budapest.
Meanwhile, Bournemouth celebrated a historic milestone despite missing out on victory against Manchester City. The draw secured the club’s first-ever qualification for European competition in its 127-year history.
Bournemouth initially looked set for victory after a first-half goal from before Haaland rescued a point for the visitors in stoppage time.
The result also extended Bournemouth’s unbeaten run to 17 matches, equalling a club record set during the 1981/82 season.
