President has announced that he will not attend the wedding of his eldest son, , citing pressing responsibilities at the White House and ongoing tensions involving Iran.

In a post shared on his Truth Social account on Friday, Trump said remaining in Washington, D.C., during what he described as a critical period for the United States was more important than attending the family event.

The US president congratulated his son and his fiancée, Bettina, but stressed that government duties would prevent him from being present at the ceremony.

“While I very much wanted to be with my son, Don Jr., and the newest member of the Trump family, his soon-to-be wife, Bettina, circumstances pertaining to Government, and my love for the United States of America, do not allow me to do so,” Trump wrote.

According to reports by Independent News, Trump had earlier hinted at his decision while speaking to reporters, pointing to developments surrounding Iran and other state matters.

“He’d like me to go,” Trump reportedly said. “I said, ‘You know, this is not good timing for me. I have a thing called Iran and other things.’”

Speaking further in the Oval Office, Trump admitted the situation placed him in a difficult position regardless of the choice he made.

“That’s one I can’t win on,” he said. “If I do attend, I get killed. If I don’t attend, I get killed by the fake news, of course.”

The president’s absence from the wedding comes amid heightened international tensions over Iran, with Trump continuing to insist that Tehran must not acquire nuclear weapons.

Earlier this week, Trump disclosed that the United States had suspended a planned military strike on Iran after appeals from key Middle East leaders, including , and .

Trump said the leaders informed Washington that serious negotiations were ongoing and expressed optimism that a diplomatic agreement could be reached.

He added that any potential deal would ensure Iran does not obtain nuclear weapons.
