The Ibadan Community in the Republic of Togo has received an Ibadan-born cyclist undertaking a transcontinental bicycle expedition from London to Lagos to promote the global fight against polio.

The cyclist, Mr. Basiru Ajadi, a native of E6/350 Oke-Ofa, Atipe, Ibadan, is a member of the Oluyole Social Elite, Ibadan, and the President-Elect of the Rotary Club of Mushin Golden, District 9112.

Ajadi is riding across continents under the campaign theme, “Zero Polio Global,” using the journey to raise awareness about the need to eradicate polio worldwide.

The reception was led by the President of the Ibadan Community in Togo, Alhaji Basiru Ajadi. Other executive members present included Vice President Alhaji Dayda Lamidi, Treasurer Alhaji Yunusa Lamidi, Secretary-General Alhaji Rasheed Gbadamosi, as well as Rasidi Rasaki, Tiri Akinpelu, and the community’s Public Relations Officer, Sherif Babajide, among others.
The community members first welcomed the cyclist at before hosting him at African Restaurant Nopegali in .
Speaking during the reception, members of the Ibadan Community commended Ajadi’s determination and described his expedition as an inspiring initiative that projects the values of humanitarian service while supporting the global campaign to achieve a polio-free world.
The community also wished him a safe journey as he continues the final leg of his London-to-Lagos cycling expedition.
