Heirs Life Assurance has announced the appointment of popular Nigerian pastor and community development advocate, Pastor Jerry Eze, as an Independent Non-Executive Director of the company.
The appointment, which took effect on August 10, 2026, is expected to bring his experience in community engagement, philanthropy, development communications and social impact to the company’s Board.
The insurance firm announced the appointment in a statement, describing Eze as a respected leader whose experience and perspective would contribute to its continued efforts to strengthen corporate governance and promote financial inclusion.

His appointment to the Board of Heirs Life comes at a time when the Nigerian insurance industry is seeking to deepen penetration and encourage greater public participation in insurance products.
Despite Nigeria’s large population, insurance penetration remains relatively low, with industry stakeholders increasingly focusing on financial literacy, affordability, accessibility and public trust as key factors in expanding the sector.
