Abuja, September 5, 2026 — Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has been honoured with the Christian Youth Peace Ambassador award by the Youth Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (YOWICAN).
The recognition was presented on Friday during the National Christian Youth Security Summit and Thanksgiving held in Abuja.
According to the organisers, the award was in recognition of Seyi Tinubu’s contributions to peacebuilding, youth development and the promotion of national unity.
Seyi Tinubu was not present at the event. The award was received on his behalf by a former National Chairman/President of YOWICAN, Belusochukwu Enwere.
In his message of appreciation, Tinubu described the recognition as a call to greater responsibility, pledging to support initiatives aimed at empowering young Nigerians, promoting peaceful coexistence and strengthening national unity.
He stressed that peace should not be viewed merely as the absence of conflict but as a condition built on justice, compassion, tolerance and mutual respect.
He commended YOWICAN for encouraging Christian youths to embrace responsible leadership and contribute positively to the development of their communities.
Tinubu also urged Nigerian youths to see the country’s religious, ethnic and cultural diversity as a strength rather than a cause for division.
He further expressed his commitment to supporting programmes that promote youth empowerment and peaceful coexistence across the country.
“Together, let us choose peace, promote love and build a Nigeria where every young person can dream, contribute and prosper,” he said.
The award was presented as Christian youth leaders and other stakeholders gathered in Abuja for the YOWICAN summit, which focused on security, leadership, peacebuilding and national development.
The summit was held from September 3 to 5, 2026.
