The United States President, , has issued a renewed warning to , threatening a significant escalation in military action if Tehran fails to meet Washington’s conditions aimed at ending ongoing tensions in the Middle East.

In a statement posted on his Truth Social platform, Trump said a peaceful resolution remains possible if Iran adheres to previously agreed terms. However, he cautioned that failure to comply would result in severe consequences.

According to him, compliance would bring an end to what he described as an “epic fury” campaign and lead to the reopening of the strategically vital to all nations, including Iran. He warned that refusal to meet the conditions would trigger intensified military strikes exceeding previous levels.

Trump’s remarks come amid an ongoing conflict involving the United States, , and Iran, which began in late February 2026 following coordinated US-Israeli airstrikes on Iranian targets.

The strikes prompted retaliatory missile and drone attacks by Tehran across the region, rapidly escalating into a broader crisis. Iran subsequently shut down the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global oil transit route, leading the US to initiate military operations and enforce a naval blockade to restore shipping activities.

Although both sides agreed to a temporary ceasefire in early April under a US-backed proposal mediated by third parties, including , the truce has remained fragile. Reports of violations, renewed naval clashes, and continued shipping disruptions have persisted.

At the heart of ongoing negotiations are key US demands, including a halt to Iran’s nuclear enrichment programme, restrictions on its ballistic missile development, an end to its support for allied armed groups, and the full reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.

In return, Washington has proposed easing sanctions, releasing frozen Iranian assets, and gradually lifting military restrictions, contingent on Iran’s compliance.

Recent developments suggest both sides are moving cautiously toward a possible agreement to formally end the conflict. A draft framework reportedly includes a temporary ceasefire, phased removal of the US naval blockade, and broader talks on Iran’s nuclear programme.

However, major disagreements remain—particularly over control of the Strait of Hormuz and Iran’s military posture—raising concerns that negotiations could collapse and lead to renewed full-scale fighting.

Trump’s latest warning underscores the fragile state of the situation and heightens fears of a more intense and potentially devastating phase of the conflict if diplomacy fails.
